America Embraces The Mythical Golden Goose

America is the land of dreams, of potential, of opportunity. Unfortunately America has embraced a fantasy, succumbing to the illusion that one can in fact get "something for nothing." Our political leaders and well-healed elite have discovered the "golden goose" and are acting with maximum dispatch to exploit that fowl for all it is worth. The Fed is now creating money from nothing, as we, the complacent masses, arrogantly delude ourselves into thinking the house of cards can never crumble. Our political solution to a bankrupt state is to pile on more debt. Instead we should be steeling ourselves for the painful awakening ahead when that goose is cooked.

La Cage Aux Foley

The Representative Foley "scandal" is really worthy of a whole book on hypocrisy. On the one hand, we have a poor misguided Republican man who had a romantic thing for young boys. He sent them suggestive e-mail. I agree, that's not great. On the other hand, we have a Democratic party that worships (not likes, WORSHIPS) a man named Bill Clinton who did not send suggestive e-mails as far as we know, but who had a barely legal intern give him oral sex kneeling under his desk in the Oval Office while he talked on the phone to a Congressional Committee Chairman, took great pleasure in putting a cigar in her orifice and then smelling it and tasting it, and having her fellate him when in the sacred seat of power of the world's leading Republic.

Celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Bemoaning The American Political Class

Recently we celebrated the birthday of a great American, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., an individual that probably did as much for civil rights and equality in this country than any other American in our history. His courage and foresight were instrumental in the strides that minorities have made in this country over the past five or six decades. If not for him, we may not have an African American President today in Barack Obama, if not for him an African American woman, Oprah Winfrey, might not be one of the most powerful people in show business today, if not for him, many of our leaders in politics and diplomacy (e.g. Colin Powell, ), sports (e.g.

Is the Santa Claus Rally Coming to Town?

Merry times are here. Were happy. Youre happy. Wall Street is happy. With the gains on Tuesday, the Santa Claus Rally appears to be in place, as long as we see gains in the last five trading days of the year, followed by the first two sessions in January. Historical records indicate that stocks have increased an average of 1.6% since 1969, according to the Stock Traders Almanac. In fact, failure to see gains could indicate a negative start in the New Year. So far, we are good. The fact that the economy is expanding despite a lack of strong jobs growth is encouraging. We are seeing what economists call a jobless recovery. And this will likely continue in 2011, as the unemployment rate is expected to remain high, but President Barack Obamas $858-billion tax extension will help drive consumer spending and economic renewal.

3 Reasons to Abolish the Income Tax

It may seem to be impossible now, the income tax was once declared to be unconstitutional and had to be repealed, way back in the 19th century. Of course, it came back in the form of the 16th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, and now it is so complicated that entire industries have come up in order to comply with the ever-changing nature of the income tax code. Income tax does not just cause financial harm to everyone who has to pay. It also causes harm in the forgone expansion of businesses and in the increased money in consumer's pockets to save and spend as they see fit. Here are three reasons why the income tax should be abolished. 1. Income Taxes Harm Investment Unlike a consumption tax, income tax harms an important sector of the economy: investment.

President Obama's Long Lost Ancestor From The 17th Century

There has been controversy surrounding the ancestry of Barack Obama. A top research team has looked into this matter and traced Obama's family tree back to the 1600s, where Obama's ancestor Barack Shakespeare Obama was a great leader and community organizer in Oxfordshire, England. A parchment was discovered that documented a speech given by this ancestor of Obama's. The parchment was in bad shape but was taken to parchment restoration experts where a process called infilling was used to fill in missing areas. The parchment was cleaned and tears were carefully mended using goldbeater's skin, which is the outer membrane of a calf's intestine. Even with the best efforts of top restoration experts, there are some parts of the speech that were unrecoverable.

America in Bondage?

A nation that lives in liberty operates differently than a nation that lives in bondage. Lets think back to the founding of the United States of America. The Pilgrims who sought liberty from religious persecution started a completely independent society to escape a form of bondage. Decades later, the Revolutionary War was fought for the express purpose of achieving liberty and freedom from the unlawful external restraint of the British government. The founders of America understood that for a nation to be successful, and for a nation to thrive under the principles of liberty, its people had to be free to make their own choices, to assume responsibility for their actions, and accept the consequences, be they good or bad.
